Our History

TCRTA was organized for fellowship among members and to cooperate with the NRTA and IRTA for mutual good. The stated purpose, according to the bylaws adopted on April 6, 1961 is, "To promote the interests of retired teachers." Rose Grimes was the first president serving from 1960-1963 with 15 members.

Tazewell County Retired Teachers Association was organized in Morton, Illinois on December 6, 1960 by state organizer, Clara Kellog.
Purpose
The purpose of this association shall be to promote the interest of retired teachers.
